Pomerol - Pétrus 1986
The domain
The name Petrus alone is a legend! Throughout the 19th century the estate belonged to the Arnaud family (LVMH Group). From 1925, a woman from Libourne, Mme Loubat, took a stake in the property. Twenty years later she is the sole owner. Not admitting that Médoc wines sell for more than Pomerol, and in particular her own, she does everything to take advantage of such a promising terroir. In a few decades the myth was born. In 1961, Mrs. Lacoste and Mr. Lignac, niece and nephew of Mrs. Loubat, inherited the estate. More recently, Jean-Pierre Moueix, merchant and traditional partner of the Château, bought Mr. Lignac's shares and runs the property with Mrs. Lacoste.
