Pomerol - Chateau L'Eglise-Clinet 2016
The domain
Château l'Eglise-Clinet is one of the pearls of the Pomerol appellation. On this tiny cru (4.5 ha), the excellence of the wines is explained both by a superb clay-gravel soil and great winemaking know-how, that of the late Denis Durantou, who died in 2020. reasoned, its vines, close to those of the famous Château Pétrus, produce very great wines. The latter are exceptional in structure and concentration, they offer pure fruit and very elegant tannins. They can be kept for decades.
Château L'Eglise-Clinet, admittedly little media due to its very confidential production, is one of the greatest wines of the Pomerol appellation.
