Pessac-Léognan - Château Haut-Brion 2015

The domain

The oldest of the Grands Crus of Bordeaux,Château Haut-Brion benefits from a rich heritage built over five centuries of history. Founded in 1533 by Jean de Pontac in the Graves region, Château Haut-Brion wine was quickly coveted and appreciated by the greatest monarchs of Europe. In 1663, Samuel Pepys, member of the English Parliament, unknowingly participated in the success of Château Haut-Brion thanks to his diary, writing “And there, I drank a kind of French wine called Ho-Bryan which had a good, very particular taste that I had never encountered...”. The legend was born.

Château Haut-Brion will obtain the rare title of Premier Grand Cru Grand Cru Classé in the Classification of 1855, becoming the Premier Grand Cru Classé outside Médoc and will also be recognized as Cru Classé des Graves in the Official Classification of Graves wines of 1959.
