Pauillac - Chateau Pichon-Longueville-Baron 2003
The domain
Majestic property on the Left Bank in the region of Bordeaux, the Château Pichon-Baron ranks among the most prestigious Crus of Pauillac. Located on the Route des Châteaux du Médoc, the appearance of this Second Cru Classé in 1855 leaves no one indifferent. With its imposing stature, it is reflected with grandeur and brilliance in the water mirror that rests at its feet, under which is located the incredible buried cellar. Entered into the fold of the AXA group at the end of the 1980s, “Pichon Baron” has undergone a major modernization. Equipped with modern infrastructures and with a largely replanted vineyard, Château Pichon Baron reaches heights of excellence, coming to equal the Premiers Grands Crus Classés.
A veritable mosaic of terroirs and superbly located near the Gironde estuary, the Pichon Baron vineyard covers 73 hectares of vines planted on perfectly drained Médoc gravel soils.
