Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru - Clos de la Maréchale - Domaine Jacques Frederic Mugnier 2013

The domain

A true emblem of the Côte de Nuits, this estate was founded in 1863 by Frédéric Mugnier, then liquorist in Dijon. A few years later, at the beginning of the 20th century, it extended over some twenty hectares spread over Chambolle-Musigny and Nuits-Saint-Georges. At the time, the first cuvées were sold with the only mention on the labels "Château Chambolle-Musigny". Then, these will be modified following the creation of the designations of origin. Currently, and since 1985, the owners are Jocelyne and Frédéric Mugnier (the grandson of the founder) who wanted to engage in a more traditional method of cultivation in order to respect nature and produce pure, subtle and refined wines.

Format : 75 cl

 Country: France

Region: Burgundy

Culture : traditional

Grape: Pinot Noir

Tasting: Le Clos de la Maréchale is one of the best wines of Nuits Saint-Georges. A few years of aging are necessary for it to bring out the delicately floral notes that characterize it. This is one of the finest Nuits-Saint-Georges of the appellation, far from certain cuvées which may seem austere in this commune of the Côte d'Or.
