Margaux - Château Rauzan-Gassies 2016
The domain
The origins of the Noble House of Gassies in Medoc date back to medieval times. Sir of Rauzan acquires the seigniory and its vines at the beginning of the reign of Louis XIV. Thanks to his winemaking know-how, he will make wines from Rauzan-Gassies the first of the second growths of the parish of Margaux. With an excellent terroir, the wine is elegant and has a floral aromatic palette, signing its character.

Cultivation: sustainable agriculture |

Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot |
Tasting: Relatively light, slightly grassy bouquet that doesn't quite deliver the exuberance of its fellow Margaux, despite not being under-ripe. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins on entry, those typical traits of damp undergrowth and a touch of greenness that leads to a balanced finish. |
