Margaux - Château Brane-Cantenac - 2016
The domain
The Chateau Brane-Cantenac stands proudly in the heart of the prestigious appellation Margaux. Renowned for its wines of remarkable elegance and finesse, this 75-hectare property is an emblem of quality and excellence in the world of fine wines.
The vineyards carry within them the will of men. The legend of Brane-Cantenac, born 300 years ago, evokes a flourishing relationship between man and the land, gaining momentum over the years. Called Hostein in the 18th century, this large vineyard was then bought by the Gorce family, and produced one of the most famous wines of the Médoc long before the 1855 classification.
As for our 2nd wine, Baron de Brane, its name pays homage to the famous Baron Jacques-Maxime de Brane, the Napoleon of the vines, owner of these lands in the 19th century. The Lurton family has been at the helm of the property for four generations, as dedicated guardians who continue to oversee the development of the property and the production of very high quality wines.
