Meursault Genévrières Premier Cru - Coche Dury 2015

The domain

Jean-François Coche Dury, assisted by his son Raphaël, produces wines that lovers of Chardonnay or more particularly of white Burgundy from all over the world are snapping up, and the reviews are rave reviews. His estate covers more than 10.5 hectares, including 9 in Meursault. Recognizable among all, its wines are straight and have typical aromas reminiscent of hazelnut. They generally benefit from an exceptional length. The most prestigious crus are aged in new barrels up to 50%. Unlike most other Burgundy estates, the whites are aged longer than the reds (20 versus 18 months on average). They are bottled by hand without prior filtration. Difficult to decide among the Meursault of Coche Dury to establish which is the best. They are all highly sought after, but it is probably the estate's Corton Charlemagne that inspires its aficionados the most. The red Burgundies, although less renowned than the whites, are of excellent quality.

Format : 75 cl

 Country: France

Region: Burgundy

Cultivation: Traditional

Grape: Chardonnay

Tasting: The vines were still maintained on horseback in the 1930s, the soil of the plot has not undergone significant movements. On the nose, phenolic notes, chamomile. The palate is immensely full but without excess, dense and generous, a little tannic, in perfect balance, without artifice. Creamy, fruity yellow finish.
