The domain
The Clos de Tsampéhro was born from an ideal: that of producing very great wines, with specifications that allow no compromise on quality, with the greatest respect for our planet. Le Clos is therefore cultivated in organic culture.
The wines of Clos de Tsampéhro seek to enhance a unique place thanks to the alliance between the know-how transmitted by generations of winegrowers and current oenological knowledge. Our desire is to ensure the sustainability of this great Valais region. This is why we work without herbicides or pesticides and only use treatments from organic cultivation. The principles of biodynamics are also implemented in our vineyard.
Three hectares of precious schist and sandy loam soils make up the exceptional terroir of Le Clos, capturing the sunshine of Central Valais, and giving richness, intensity and creaminess to the wines. Ten grape varieties chosen with the desire to produce blends that boldly combine indigenous varieties with international grape varieties.
Production of Complete Wine : whole bunch pressing. Complete fermentation in new French oak barrels. A single barrel is produced per year, which corresponds to approximately 290 bottles. No malolactic fermentation. Aging on lees for 3 years spent in wood.
