Charmes-Chambertin Aux Mazoyeres Grand Cru - Domaine Jean-Pierre Mathieu 2007
The domain
Symbol of a quality wine if there is one, the Matthew's domain is ranked among the best, if not the best of the Côte de Nuits vineyards, in the Côte d'Or department. Located in Chambolle-Musigny, near Corton, it extends over nearly 12 hectares, producing exclusively red wines (except for the Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne, which is a white). 40,000 bottles are thus produced each year on the estate, which allows this wine to maintain a relative rarity.
The wines of Domain Mathieu offer a great diversity for tasting, they turn out to be both powerful and fine wines according to your choice. A Musigny, for example, will be very calm, while a Chambolle Combottes will want to be much more toned. Finally, note that the whole production has the characteristic of a grape variety with rather fruity touches.
