Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru - Les Amoureuses - Domaine Georges Roumier 2007
The domain
The story begins in 1924, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. At his wedding, Georges Roumier settled in the village of Chambolle-Musigny, renowned for the delicacy of its wines.
His in-laws then entrust him with the keys to several vineyard plots, nestled in remarkable appellations: Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, Musigny Grand Cru, and Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru "Les Amoureuses." Georges Roumier takes the time to carefully craft this vineyard. Year after year, he dedicates himself entirely to his climats, to express all their nuances. A pioneer, he even initiates bottling at the estate, at a time when trading dominates.
When his son officially succeeds him in 1961, Domaine Georges Roumier has already earned its reputation. Jean-Marie Roumier in turn carries on this heritage and helps it grow. 20 years later, he is joined by his own son, Christophe Roumier, a graduate in oenology. Together, they bottle their entire harvest starting from the 1983 vintage.
Since Jean-Marie's retirement in 1990, Christophe Roumier has continued the family adventure alongside his sister Delphine: an adventure intimately connected to the land, where nothing is more important than the perfect expression of the terroir…

Tasting: elegant yet vigorous, refined and airy, the 1er Cru "Les Amoureuses" is the emblematic vineyard of Chambolle-Musigny. It alone embodies everything one can expect from this prestigious appellation. Beneath its particularly luminous ruby robe, "Les Amoureuses" offers floral aromas of acacia or lilac, aromas of wild raspberries, violets, and silky, fine tannins. This mysterious wine can sometimes prove complex to taste but is, without a doubt, the most moving of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation. |
