Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru - Domaine Prieuré Roch 2006
The domain
Owned by Henry-Frédéric Roc, co-manager of Romanée Conti, the Prieuré Roch estate is one of the jewels of Nuits Saint Georges. He cultivates a small dozen hectares by applying the principles of organic farming. Yields are much lower than those usually practiced in this appellation, guaranteeing the exceptional quality of Prieuré Roch wines. The grapes of the domain Priory Roch are vinified in whole bunches, that is to say not destemmed. The domain Priory Roch cultivates small plots such as Hautes Maizières, Clos Goillote, and Les Suchots in Vose-Romanée but also grands crus such as Clos Vougeot and Chambertin Clos de Bèze. Further south, it benefits from a Nuits Saint Georges premier cru in the Clos des Corvées monopoly and a few ouvrées in the Clos des Argilières. He also acquired 2 hectares in Ladoix where he produces a white Burgundy wine and a Burgundy wine rouge.

Tasting: It releases perfumes of violets and very fresh aromas of small red fruits embellished with notes of spices. Generous and well-balanced, this wine of a beautiful substance and a delicious aromatic complexity is underlined by a very subtle mineral note. |
