Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru - Domaine Georges & Christophe Roumier 2020
The domain
Symbol of a quality wine if ever there was one, the domain of Christophe Roumier (descendant of Georges Roumier) is classified among the best, if not the best of the Côte de Nuits vineyard, in the Côte d'Or department. Located in Chambolle-Musigny, near Corton, it covers almost 12 hectares, producing exclusively red wines (except for the Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne, which is a white). 40,000 bottles are produced each year on the estate, which allows this wine to remain relatively rare. At VinsGrandsCrus you will find a wide choice of these exceptional wines thanks to the good relationships we maintain with many red wine lovers. This means that despite its rarity it is still possible to acquire it.
The wines of Domaine de Roumier offer great diversity when tasting, they prove to be both powerful and fine wines depending on your choice. A Musigny, for example, will be very calm, while a Chambolle Combottes will be much more lively. Finally, note that the entire production has the characteristic of a grape variety with rather fruity touches.

Tasting: This grand cru is a blend of two exceptional terroirs, “Les Terres Rouges” and “Les Terres Blanches”, located on the border between Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle, near the famous Clos de Tart. This Bonnes-Mares is aged with 40% new oak. The wine is then bottled without filtration. This is indeed one of the most concentrated and imposing grands crus of Burgundy. Christophe Roumier has created a wine of incredible complexity which reveals itself after 10 to 20 years of aging. Black and red fruits, sweet spices, but also peony and peppery notes. |
