Vosne Romanée - Le Clos Goillotte - Domaine Prieuré Roch 2018

The domain

Owned by Henry-Frédéric Roc, co-manager of Romanée Conti, the Prieuré Roch estate is one of the jewels of Nuits Saint Georges. He cultivates a small dozen hectares by applying the principles of organic farming. Yields are much lower than those usually practiced in this appellation, guaranteeing the exceptional quality of Prieuré Roch wines. The grapes of the domain Priory Roch are vinified in whole bunches, that is to say not destemmed. The domain Priory Roch cultivates small plots such as Hautes Maizières, Clos Goillote, and Les Suchots in Vose-Romanée but also grands crus such as Clos Vougeot and Chambertin Clos de Bèze. Further south, it benefits from a Nuits Saint Georges premier cru in the Clos des Corvées monopoly and a few ouvrées in the Clos des Argilières. He also acquired 2 hectares in Ladoix where he produces a white Burgundy wine and a Burgundy wine rouge.

information:

In the center of the village of Vosne Romanée, the Clos Goillotte forms a triangle of 0.55 ha in front of the ancient cellars of the Prince of Conti, which in 1820 became the bourgeois residence of La Goillotte. Reserved for family consumption of the house, the climate and the wines of La Goillotte were not listed when the appellation was created in 1936. Exception among the exceptions, the wines of the Clos will only be accessible to amateurs from 1988 under the name of Clos Goillotte, when it was acquired by Henry Frédéric Roch. The vines are 45 years old on average.
