Sauternes - Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2007 Magnum
The domain
A very old 18.5 hectare wine estate, Château LAFAURIE-PEYRAGUEY is located in the heart of Sauternes, on the heights of the village of Bommes.
"Maisons Rouges", today a plot of the estate, was a stopping place for the Romans and the oldest stones of the surrounding wall and the entrance porch, considered the oldest monument in the commune of Bommes, date from the 13th century. The stones and archives of the castle (since 1742) are testimonies to the rich past of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey: eight centuries of preserved history!
An exceptional terroir
At the heart of the great Sauternes terroirs, the Lafaurie-Peyraguey vineyard is located on the high gravel terrace of Sauternes, 70 m above sea level, neighboring Château d'Yquem.
The plots of “L’Enclos” and “Maisons Rouges” represent the historic heart of the great terroir of Château LAFAURIE-PEYRAGUEY, composed of Quaternary gravel deposited more than 600,000 years ago, on a substrate of Aquitaine limestone.

Tasting: What a beautiful style of Sauternes, full of finesse. Focused on freshness and ripe, honeyed fruit, this wine offers aromas of apricot, orange, pineapple and candied citrus peel, with soft accents of vanilla and a refreshing acidity that gives flavor. 'emotion to this taste treat, just like its flavors of honeyed tropical fruits. |
