The domain
It is on the heights of Saint-Estèphe that the superb pagodas of Cos d'Estournel, the legacy of Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel, known as “The Maharajah of Saint-Estèphe”. Founded in 1811, the estate is located on the gravel hill of Cos and was shaped little by little by this visionary who traveled to the four corners of the world to promote his wine and win over new customers.
Owned by Michel Reybier since 2000, the estate today oversees an exceptional vineyard spread over 100 hectares of vines aged 45 years on average.

Tasting: Medium ruby color. Open nose, clearly gingerbread, black cherries, candied plums. On the palate, supple and accessible, medium body, ripe fruit, the tannins are already well integrated and give a good structure, the acidity seems moderate but ensures a certain freshness. The finish is of good length, even if it is not very long, and ends with sweet wood spices. To be enjoyed between 2028 and 2030. |
