Saint-Émilion Grand Cru - Château Pavie 1999 Magnum

The domain

Owned by Gérard Perse since 1997, the prestigious Château Pavie has been a Premier Grand Cru classé A of St Emilion since 2012 (previously classified B), alongside the stars Ausone, Angélus and Cheval Blanc. Located 35km east of Bordeaux (Dordogne right bank), it is the neighbor of the La Gaffelière, Larcis Ducasse estates and Pavie Decesse to name but a few. The vines of Château Pavie , aged 43 years on average, extend over 37 hectares with three very distinct terroirs: the plateau (limestone), the coast (clay-limestone) and the foot of the coast (sandy-clay). The density of the vines, cultivated using sustainable agriculture, is 5,800 vines/ha, and the grape varieties are as follows: Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (25%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%).
