Saint-Émilion Grand Cru - Château Pavie Macquin 2010
The domain
The Château Pavie Macquin was founded in the 19th century by Albert Macquin, the man who introduced grafted plants to France in order to save the country's vineyards from destruction caused by phylloxera. Today, the castle is still owned by Macquin's descendants and its vineyard benefits from an exceptional location. The wines dominated by Merlot are generous and full-bodied.

Tasting: The powerful nose, with its flowers, mint, licorice, cocoa, plum, damp earth and cherries, is a treat. Still young, the wine is rich, concentrated, opulent, pulpy and intense. |
