The domain

Alvaro Palacios is one of the best Spanish winemakers who have left a long-term mark in the Priorat. The manageable vineyard area blends into the hills of Catalonia's Sierra de Montsant, where the dry climate, Licorella shale soil, terraced vineyards and low yields per hectare are in harmony .

Already in the Middle Ages, Priorat was one of the most important wine-growing regions in Spain. After that, calm reigned for a long time around the growing area, until the arrival of famous winemakers like Alvaro Palacios and René Barbier in 1989 led to a significant boom. Priorat wines are typically blends of Grenache, Cariñena and classic Bordeaux grape varieties. Les Terrasses is a blend of predominantly regional grape varieties with a proportion of 1% white wine. The grapes come from 80 plots spread over eight different communes. The red wine ages for twelve months in oak barrels.
