Saint-Estèphe - Château Calon-Ségur 2000

The domain

Located to the very north of Saint-Estèphe, Château Calon-Ségur is one of the historic properties of the Médoc (the Marquis de Ségur also owned the Châteaux Lafite and Latour). Brought to its best level by the Capbern-Gasqueton family, owners for more than a century, Calon-Ségur today belongs to the Suravenir insurance group. Its new director, Vincent Millet, from Château Margaux, has the mission of leading the wine towards increasing quality via blends more marked by Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines appear among the most distinguished and consistent in the Médoc.
