Castillon - Château Cap de Faugères - 2015

The domain

The Château Cap de Faugeres, with an area of ​​31 hectares, is located in the commune of Sainte-Colombe, in the Castillon-Côtes-de-Bordeaux appellation, named Côtes-de-Castillon before 2009.

It is the property of Silvio Denz who also owns Châteaux Faugères and Péby-Faugères, 2 Grands Crus Classés in the east of Saint-Émilion. This atypical Swiss businessman has dedicated his life to the world of luxury and excellence, notably with the company Art et Fragrance or, more recently, the acquisition of the Lalique crystal factory. It is therefore quite naturally that he then turned to the world of the vine, where he was guided by Michel Rolland, the famous adviser who now works all over the world.

The Cap de Faugères vineyard is cultivated in sustainable natural viticulture for vinification which takes place in a cellar renovated by the architects Jean de Gastines and Patrick Dillon, of international reputation. 100,000 bottles are produced each year and the biggest guides quote them frequently.

The Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation
The 2,300 hectare vineyard is located 45 km east of Bordeaux, it is bordered to the west by the St Emilionnais, to the south by the Dordogne river and to the west by the Dordogne department. The wines of the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation reveal aromas of ripe red berries and stone fruits (plum and cherry), violet, leather and raspberry. They are expressive and solid with a fine, ample and generous tannic structure and a good finish.
