Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru Clos de la Bussière - Domaine Georges Roumier 2006

The domain

The story begins in 1924, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. At his wedding, Georges Roumier settled in the village of Chambolle-Musigny, renowned for the delicacy of its wines.

His in-laws then entrust him with the keys to several vineyard plots, nestled in remarkable appellations: Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, Musigny Grand Cru, and Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru "Les Amoureuses." Georges Roumier takes the time to carefully craft this vineyard. Year after year, he dedicates himself entirely to his climats, to express all their nuances. A pioneer, he even initiates bottling at the estate, at a time when trading dominates.

When his son officially succeeds him in 1961, Domaine Georges Roumier has already earned its reputation. Jean-Marie Roumier in turn carries on this heritage and helps it grow. 20 years later, he is joined by his own son, Christophe Roumier, a graduate in oenology. Together, they bottle their entire harvest starting from the 1983 vintage.

Since Jean-Marie's retirement in 1990, Christophe Roumier has continued the family adventure alongside his sister Delphine: an adventure intimately connected to the land, where nothing is more important than the perfect expression of the terroir…

Format : 75 cl

 Country: France

Region: Burgundy

Respectful culture and harvest

Grape variety: Pinot noir

Tasting: like its clay soil, the Clos de la Bussière, a monopoly of Domaine Georges Roumier, is fleshy and powerful. It is a wine with real strength, a body sometimes even a certain rusticity typical of Morey Saint Denis. Dominated by dark fruits (black cherries, blackcurrant), the Clos de la Bussière is a tannic wine; maturity gives it length on the palate.
