Côte Rôtie - Château d'Ampuis 2015
The domain
Acquired by the GUIGAL Family in 1995, the Château d'Ampuis was, upon its purchase, included in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments. From then on, a colossal restoration program was implemented in order to restore this building to its former prestige. This project, carried out under the direction of Mr. Jean-Gabriel MORTAMET, Chief Architect of Historic Monuments, lasted nearly 11 years, including a period with more than 100 people for almost 5 years.
The Château d'Ampuis today houses the head office of Maison GUIGAL, with public reception taking place in the historic cellars of the Domaine located in the heart of the town of Ampuis.
On its walls, proudly appears a motto taken from its prestigious past “No good without pain”, which fully expresses the philosophy of this Rhone house.
