Bourgogne Chardonnay - Coche Dury 2017
The domain
Jean-François Coche Dury, assisted by his son Raphaël, produces wines that fans of Chardonnay or more particularly white Burgundy from all over the world are snapping up, and the reviews are glowing. Its estate covers more than 10.5 hectares, including 9 in Meursault. Recognizable among all, its wines are straight and have typical aromas reminiscent of hazelnut. They generally benefit from exceptional length.
The most prestigious wines are aged in 50% new barrels. Unlike most other areas of Burgundy, the whites are aged longer than the reds (20 versus 18 months on average). They are bottled by hand without prior filtration. It is difficult to decide among the Meursault de Coche Dury to establish which is the best. They are all highly sought after, but it is probably the estate's Corton Charlemagne that its aficionados dream of the most. The red Burgundies, although less renowned than the whites, are of excellent quality.
